For quite some time now, Pittsburgh City has been considering the possibility of selling advertising space in its parks, on various vending machines, vehicles, trash receptacles, and a whole lot more. And, while it has been something that has been considered for quite a while, it may actually happen within the next few months. The mayor, Luke Ravensthal, and his office believe that if they offer this type of advertising, they will be able to earn a whole lot of revenue for the city, while still complying with the set zoning requirements. The assistant finance director, Cathy Qureshi, even says that this money that could exist and the city would happy to be able to receive it.

For a few years, the city was considering a specific idea, working with Active Network Incorporation. In fact, the city has been thinking about this since the start of the recession, back in 2007. And, the councilman, Bill Peduto, set up a committee that would be discussing the issue to figure out if it was the right move or not. As of right now, the city is making adjustments s needed before sending out the bills. Most likely, this legislation will be shown to council members sometime before June, most likely during the month of May.

Officials are hoping to be able to start the program at the beginning of the summer. With the new program, the city would have the possibility to earn $500,000 in revenue from advertising alone. It is unsure how much money could be earned from this on a

Suppose you spend 7 years at a law firm and don’t make partner. I know that not making partner does not always mean that you did crappy work, especially if they kept you there for 7 years. What can you do in your career at that point? Do you leave? Are your chances of making partner anywhere greatly diminished?

It is hard to tell based on your question whether you are anticipating the possibility of not making partner someday, or have actually been ignored for partnership at your current firm. Either way, you should remember that the partnership track is different from firm to firm. You might have spent 7 years with a firm. Some firms do make decisions about partnership after 7 years, however, many firms have partnership tracks based on 8, 9, 10 or 11 years. At a firm with a track of 10 years, it would not be at all unusual to be a 7th year associate who was not yet up for partner. In that situation, the fact that you aren’t a partner would not be any indication that there is something wrong with your legal presentation skills or your professional development.

Preparing for Partnership. However, if the partnership track of your firm is 7 years (as I suspect it may be, based on the question), it may be an indication that the firm does perceive that there is something lacking. Your work may be excellent, but it may be that you have not developed any business, or have not shown enough management potential. Of course, that’s entirely speculation. Regardless of why an attorney does not make partner, it would be highly unusual for a lawyer to spend his or her career with one firm, and over the course of seven years, not get any feedback on whether the firm felt that the associate was ‘on track’ for partnership. In essence, your path to partnership should be fairly well defined both by you and by the partners at your firm. If you start considering what the issues are surrounding

The city of Miami is definitely considering a serious approach when it comes to advertisement. The city is actually contemplating advertisements being allowed on the streets and sidewalks, even on fire hydrants, as a means of producing revenue. Just about anything that you see on the streets of Miami could end up being used as space for an advertisement. This includes an assortment of public buildings as well, along with fences. This measure is supposedly being set up so that the parking authority in Miami will be able to sell advertisements at certain pay stations on the street, which many Miami residents have noticed around the area.

However, it is believed that a measure like this worded a little too broadly. One could easily interpret this measure as meaning that advertisements could be placed on just about anything, everywhere, which could even include trees. However, the attorney for the city, Julie Bru, says that the city would not want to nail any advertisements to trees in the area and that these specific measures could change in the near future, being modified so that they become more specific.

After the proposal was announced, anti-billboard groups got together and were sending out mass e-mails to the residents of Miami, asking them to take a stand and oppose this measure. One of the co-founders of the anti-billboard group actually claimed that such a measure would

Apple has recently filed in response to several lawsuits against them, in which they are accused of falsely advertising for Siri and all that it is capable of doing. Siri is known for being much of a personal assistant and is used via voice activation on the iPhone 4S. In the file against the lawsuits, Apple says that the claims against them are very vague and are simply incomplete, not making much sense to the company at all.

Apple also questioned why these people, those who are complaining about Siri and its capabilities, never decided to return the phone, as Apple does have a 30-day return policy, in which people can return the product for a full refund, with no questions asked. The vast majority of people who filed a lawsuit against Apple said that shortly after buying the product, they became dissatisfied. With that said, Apple wants to know why these individuals chose not to return their iPhone instead of filing a lawsuit against the makers of the ever popular iPhone device.

In the meantime, Apple has argued that several of the plaintiffs who have filed these lawsuits ended up buying their iPhone outside the state of California; therefore they do not have the standing to actually make these claims under the consumer protection that California offers. The lawsuit all came about when a man from New York, Frank Fazio, decided to file against Apple in the federal court of San Jose, California. He filed the suit on the 6th of March, claiming that the advertisements for the iPhone 4s misguide people into believing that the feature can actually do a number of different things that it actually does not

While the economy for the state managed to lose a total of 300 jobs, the unemployment rate still managed to fall during the month of April and is currently at 8.1 percent. Many of the state officials were quite confused as to how this was possible but these statistics come from two different factors. The unemployment rate is set based on household survey while the amount of jobs that have been added or lost comes from a separate survey, one related strictly to business.

One senior economist, Dave Wallace, says that it can be quite confusing when each of the different surveys portrays different results than one other, basically results that will contradict one another in some ways. For the private sector, there was job growth of nearly 2,000 jobs. However, the public sector did not do nearly as well as the private sector and ending up dealing with a loss

The odds are good that unless you happen to live in one section of the county, or do a lot of your grocery shopping at upscale organic markets that you have not heard of the brand. For those of you who are not familiar with the Truitt Bros., Inc. Company here is a look at how the company describes itself, “In response to food trends and changing consumer tastes, Truitt Brothers has grown to be far more than a cannery. Operating from multiple USDA and FDA approved facilities located in the Eastern and Western United States, we lead the shelf stable foods industry in quality, service and innovation. Nearly 40 years experience in manufacturing and product development, complemented by an in- house staff of food scientists, culinary specialists and a process authority, enables us to provide foodservice and retail sectors with a broad range of products and service…”

Apparently the company has decided that they can do without one of those faculties as they are getting ready to close it. The company is preparing to close down The Seasonal Bean Canning Facility, located in Salem, Oregon, is going to be shuttering its doors and laying off all of its workers. According to the information that the company filed with the Workforce Development Board

If issues, related to a new contract, are not sorted out, workers at eight Twin Cities hospitals, could resort to striking later this month and be off their jobs.

As it is mandatory for unions to give a 10 days’ notice before striking, unions, representing the workers, have voted to authorize a two-to-five day strike against hospitals operated by five health systems in the Twin Cities. However, the authorization does not necessarily mean that a strike will surely happen.

The vote in favor of striking was overwhelming and about 91 percent of the 3,500 members of the Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota voted in favor of the strike. Workers represented by SEIU Healthcare Minnesota include nursing assistants, emergency room technicians, maintenance workers and food service personnel.

Tee McClenty, executive vice president of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota, said “The vote speaks for itself.”

The Union asserts that the proposed changes would push the lowest paid workers and their families into poverty.

Renewed negotiations are scheduled to begin on Wednesday and an agreement could stall the strike. In a news release, the unions said that neither the union nor its members would make any additional remarks.

Jeremiah Whitten, a spokesman for the eight hospitals, called the vote disappointing. “But we remain optimistic that we can reach a fair settlement and are looking forward to resuming the talks,” she said.

Unions said that the strike vote was intended to send a strong message home that workers were willing to adopt tough measures and that it would act as a catalyst in the next round of contract talks. Negotiations since January have not produced any long-lasting solutions and the workers contracts, set to expire on Wednesday, have been extended several times.

The union says that apart from issues of wages and benefits, which form the crux of the problems, another area that needs to be addressed is the new proposal by the hospitals that would increase workers’ out-of-pocket costs for health

A group aptly named “Missourians for Responsible Lending and Give Missourians a Raise,” along with faith leaders, workers, community leaders, submitted a signed petition of more than 173,000 signatures to the secretary of State that will allow them to vote on measures to fix the rate on predatory loans and raise Missouri’s minimum wage.

The people are seeking to raise the state’s minimum wage from the national average per hour to $8.25 in 2013, and provide for annual cost – of – living adjustments in subsequent years.

The payday loan proposal, seeks a capping at 36 percent on annual rates on short-term loans, inclusive of interest, fees and finance charges.
